when creating my film poster i decided to create a polaroid picture format from researching films which used this technique, as i felt that it complemented the films theme and genre as well as appeal to the target audience.
- i began by using photoshop to create a border upon the picture, which i had taken with a retro filter on my camera to create a aged look relating to the title of our film 1970
- i then used dafont.com to select a font which contratsed the aged photo by using a digital font relating to the technology brief. i then used an orange filter on photoshop as well the burn tool to make the photo seem un developed, as well as a texturising tool.
- i added the slogan 'who needs technology?' is a font which resembled handwriting to make it look as though it is a polaroid memory.
- i then decided that the previous layout didnt work so well as when people look at posters the main focus should be central and the title of the film wasnt so i made '1970' central. under this i added credits of the film in a basic black font so it didnt take any focus away from the main content. i also used a black simplistic background for behind the portfolio.
